Hydraulic breakers, also known as hydraulic hammers, are powerful demolition tools used in construction, mining, and quarrying to break up hard materials such as concrete, rock, and asphalt. They are typically attached to excavators, backhoes, or skid steer loaders, converting the hydraulic power of the host machine into mechanical force to deliver high-impact blows.
The primary components of a hydraulic breaker include the housing, piston, chisel or tool bit, and hydraulic system. The hydraulic system of the host machine supplies pressurized oil to the breaker, which drives the piston. The piston then strikes the chisel, delivering powerful blows to the material, effectively breaking it apart. This process is repeated rapidly, allowing for efficient demolition work.
Hydraulic breakers come in various sizes and power ratings, suitable for different types of jobs. Smaller breakers are used for tasks like breaking pavement or light demolition, while larger breakers are capable of handling heavy-duty tasks such as quarrying rock or demolishing large concrete structures.
